Mothers, Daughters And Embarrassment

It was at a friend’s daughter’s party that I witnessed a crime,

The girl’s mother started to boogey, but it wasn’t the time,

‘Cos this display was an embarrassment to her sweet little girl,

And something inside me turned and started to unfurl,

Why are we mums a source of such shame,

We don’t do it on purpose most of us claim,

But is the other way round not also found to be true,

Don’t our daughters show us mothers up with what they do,

And I conclude that there is no solution as it is nature’s role,

That made us part of each other, carved of the same whole.
