Better

If words could be offered to rid you of your ills,

I would pour them down your throat like tablets, pills,

I would construct them only from letters so pure,

Full of love, hope and strength, forged into a cure,

If words could be offered to rid you of disease,

I would string them into the lightest of a breeze,

To blow away all signs of infection and pain,

I would do it forever, again and again,

If words could be offered for the twinkle in your eye,

I would stretch them from here, yonder high,

So that they reached the innermost that is you,

The door of which is that familiar piercing blue,

If words could be offered for you to be fighting fit,

I would invent new vocabulary, every letter, every bit,

For you to get up and not suffer anymore,

For you to have already one this physical war,

And I now offer you words which will fill a jug,

To drown your enemies, bacteria or bug,

So you will chuckle and sing your beautiful song,

And come back home soon to where you belong.
