New Neighbours

Keys in hand they start to deface,

A home turned into gutted place,

And the sounds they have rudely brought,

Presents of unpleasant and fraught,

The drilling, the banging of loud,

Vibrating ear, vibrating cloud,

Windows futile to shut out that,

Can’t be wiped on the front door mat,

The air has also been changed,

With dust and pollutants arranged,

So all around splutter and cough,

And try and wash the brick dirt off,

They did not ask, they do not care,

Their house trespassing anywhere,

Polluting neighbours status quo,

A perfect way to say hello,

Why are you digging in to stay,

Take your rubble and go away.
